LOST, DAMAGED AND DELAYED BAGGAGE
Freebird Airlines shows the highest level of attention to avoid any irregularity to your luggage during your flight. If you have experienced any baggage irregularity such as damage, delay or loss during a Freebird Airlines flight, please contact the Lost and Found Office at the airport and fill out a Property Irregularity Report (PIR).
Reports of damage or loss must be reported immediately at the destination station. In case of damage, this must be made in writing to the airline within seven (7) days from the date of delivery of the baggage, and within twenty-one (21) days after delivery in case of delayed baggage.
Please note that our liability for loss, delay or damage to baggage is limited by international convention. Alternatively, if the contents of your bags have a high value, you might like to consider increasing the amount of your own travel insurance.

LOST BAGGAGE
Passengers who cannot collect their luggage at the arrival station after the flight, you must apply to the Lost and Found offices without leaving the arrival hall on the same day and create a Baggage Irregularity Report (PIR). If not claimed at Airport (without PIR), complaint will not be accepted.
Upon your application, you will be provided with a reference number.(e.g. AYTFH12345)
Passengers must check the number of baggage tags and flight numbers while they are checking in their baggages at check in counters.
Our airline does not accept any liability if the passengers could not show bag tag number. Your lost baggage will be traced for the first 5 days by our contracted Ground Handling Company. During this period, you may contact them at your arrival destination.
After 5 days Have Passed;
If your baggage can not be found within the first 5 days, please apply to Freebird Airlines via e-mail address [email protected] with the following documents;
- Property Irregularity Report(P.I.R) of missing baggage
- Boarding Pass and Bag Tags
- Items in your lost luggage and price list
Our relevant department will meticulously evaluate your requests and will inform you quickly. For the baggage that cannot be found during the research period, Freebird Airlines pays compensation to the passenger in accordance with the legislation.
LATE DELIVERED BAGGAGE
Passengers who receive their baggage late due to a problem must apply in writing to the e-mail address [email protected] with copies of the following documents within 21 days from the date they receive their baggage.
- Property Irregularity Report(P.I.R) of missing baggage
- Boarding Pass and Bag Tags
- Invoices of expenses made for necessary needs (credit card slip, invoices, etc.)
- Bank details, Account holder, Currency, Bank/branch name, IBAN Number (International Banking Account Number), swift-bic code.
Late delivery amounts are not calculated for all expenses, but primarily payments are made for important and necessary needs. For the passengers who receive his/her luggage late will only be paid a fee for urgent daily needs, within the limits, for each day they do not receive their luggage during the holiday period.
DAMAGED BAGGAGE
After the flight, if the damage on your baggage is noticed, you must apply to the Lost and Found Offices without leaving the arrival hall on the same day, and create a damage report with your documents.
Passenger must notify the relevant department with the following documents, within 7 days after the irregularity happened. The applications to be made after the this period shall not be taken into consideration pursuant to the international protocols.

- Damage Baggage Report
- Boarding Pass and Bag Tags
- If repaired, the purchase invoice of the damaged baggage together with the repair invoice
- If your baggage cannot be repaired, a non-repairable letter from the authorised company containing the value of the baggage
- If the purchase receipt is not available, please indicate the date, place and price of purchase
- Photos of the damaged bag
- Bank details, Account holder, Currency, Bank/branch name, IBAN Number (International Banking Account Number), swift-bic code.
Our relevant department will meticulously evaluate your requests and will inform you quickly. Please contact the Lost and Found offices before leaving the airport and do not forget to file a report. Your requests will not be accepted without a PIR report.
IMPORTANT NOTICE ON BAGGAGE LIABILITY
Freebird Airlines is not responsible or liable for the condition of your baggage that results from the following:
- In cases where a damage report cannot be submitted.
- Baggage for which a luggage tag cannot be presented
- Wear and Tear such as minor cuts, scratches, scuffs, dents and marks.
- Loss or Damage to wheels, feet, handles, locks and pull straps or security straps.
- Damage to Over-packed and Overweight baggage.
- Fragile and Perishable items including those that are not adequately packed.
- Sports Equipment and instruments that are not placed in proper hard casing such as golf clubs and musical instruments.
- Valuable Items including money, jewellery, precious metals, silverware, antiques, heirlooms, securities, laptops and other electronic items, business documents, passport and other identification documents, product samples, medicines, or medical items.
- Damage to baggage detected before the flight (LRT).
- If you suspect that the contents of your baggage are missing, you should contact the security forces.
FORGOTTEN BELONGINGS
Inside the Aircraft
When you realize that you have forgotten your personal belongings on board during the flight, you must apply to the lost and found offices located at the relevant stations. Items forgotten by passengers on board the aircraft are delivered to the Lost and Found Unit of that airport. When forgotten items are found on our airplanes they are recorded. Our Airline is not responsible for forgotten items.
Inside the Airport
You must apply to the Airport lost and found offices located at the relevant stations for your baggage and and personal belongings that you forgotten at the departure or arrival airport.
